The recently commenced component “Support to Digitalisation of Businesses in Kosovo” (#Digital4Business) held its first Steering Committee meeting on 16 June 2022 at the ITP Prizren. The members of the body – which is responsible for the provision of strategic guidance and oversight of the implementation of the component’s tasks – used the opportunity to discuss the objectives, activities, and measures to maximize the benefits of the component.

The meeting was attended by Daniela Huhmann (responsible Programme Manager at the European Union Office in Kosovo), Agim Kukaj (Ministry of Economy), Laura Zherka and Kosovare Kelmendi (Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade), Gani Ismjali (Kosovo’s Employment Agency), Esen Kaymakçi (Prizen-based business association ESNAF), Endrit Fetahi (University of Prizren), Hans-Jürgen Cassens (ITP Prizren/GIZ), Simon Floeth (Digital Transformation Center/GIZ) as well as representatives of the component.

Jointly financed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the European Union (EU), the component is being implemented by the GIZ as part of the Digital Transformation Center in the ITP Prizren. The component aims to support the further development of Kosovo businesses, especially Micro and Small Enterprises, by increasing their resilience and agility through the process of digitalisation and digital transformation.

The presentation of the component was delivered by Benjamin Cornils as the coordinator of the component, who also outlined the work and the mission of the Digital Transformation Center and the ITP Prizren. Mr Cornils thanked the members of the SC for attending the meeting and for their commitment to support the component in achieving its objectives.

During the meeting, it was decided that Agim Kukaj will be the chair of the Committee, while the meetings will take place on a half-year basis.
