A call for applications for other institutions to rent space, and for usage of the hospital at the ITP will be published separately soon.
The Governments of Kosovo and Germany have decided to jointly develop the former camp of the German KFOR contingent in Prizren into an Innovation and Training Park. The size of the park is 40 ha and comprises 56 buildings and several open plots for further development for rent.
The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH (GIZ), is mandated to develop and manage the Park.
The Innovation and Training Park Prizren is open to the private sector, vocational education and training institutions, as well as research and innovation activities. Beyond real estate, it will offer business services and a secure and stable investment environment with a management that looks after the tenants.
The Innovation and Training Park Prizren aims for close linkages among tenants as well as between park management and tenants, offering an environment that fosters synergies. Beyond spatial proximity, a strong networking atmosphere will lie at the heart of the ITP, which builds on collaboration and shared resources. To ensure this interaction, the ITP will bring together companies from Kosovo, Germany and other countries to boost the economy, create jobs, provide new job skills and commercialize innovations.
Additionally, both Governments intend to set up a business incubator and a makerspace to promote entrepreneurial activities and create new interactions with other tenants of the park.
Vocational education and training schools are welcome to play a very important role in fulfilling the demand of the labour market and tenants of the park.
Research institutions and academia will be invited to establish new links between companies and the labour market.
Finally, markets, cafés and recreational activities such as sports are expected to contribute to the park becoming a meeting point for citizens, students, entrepreneurs and visitors.
